Since 1989 the Time Travelers program has been used to teach the Bible to our three year old through third grade students on Wednesday evenings. Dedicated teachers use a multimedia approach which includes live skits, storytelling, singing and puppets to bring the Bible to life. Beginning in Genesis and continuing through Revelation, Time Travelers students embark on a three year journey through the pages of scripture. Memorization of key Bible facts and verses is also an integral part of the Time Travelers program, challenging even the youngest student to commit God’s Word to memory.
The children meet at 7:00 p.m. in the “Time Travelers” room, an area designed specifically for the presentation of the lessons. After meeting as a group for about 40 minutes, the Time Travelers are visited by the Sharing Sisters. These ladies recognize visitors and those who brought their Bibles. They also share something which reminds the students of the lesson for that evening. Then, it’s off to age/grade level classes where the evening is completed by memory work and handwork or crafts which reinforce the lesson.
As you can see Wednesday evenings are filled with fun and excitement. More importantly, God and His Word are taught. The children learn respect for God’s authority and are taught to observe and obey His commands. An appreciation for God’s love and grace is instilled in each young heart. We hope you and your family will join us as we travel back to Bible times and study the most awesome story ever told!
