FAQ's
How to become a member of the church of Christ

1. Understand God’s great love for man.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

2. Understand that man is a sinner in need of a savior, and that Christ is that Savior.
For the Son of man came to seek and save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10)

3. Understand that God gave the Holy Spirit as a guide to all truth, after Jesus left the earth, and the gospel is that truth.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, (these) shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. (John 16:13)
Every scripture inspired of God (is) also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

4. Understand that the gospel is the power of God to salvation, not man’s doctrines.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

5. Understand that man cannot atone for his own sins. Atonement is found only in the blood of Christ.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath (of God) through him. (Romans 5:9)
in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins: (Colossians 1:14)

6. One must believe the gospel.
So belief (cometh) of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)
and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)
And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing (unto him); for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and (that) he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. (Hebrews 11:6)
but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name. (John 20:31)

7. One must repent of past sins.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish. (Luke 13:3)
The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent: (Acts 17:30)

8. One must confess faith in Christ.
for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10)
Every one therefore who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32)

9. One must be baptized for the remission of sins.
And Peter (said) unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. (Galatians 3:27)
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned. (Mark 16:16)
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on his name. (Acts 22:16)

10. Be faithful to Christ unto death.
Fear not the things which thou art about to suffer: behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10)

11. The Lord adds the saved to His church.
praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved. (Acts 2:47)
