Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

This means that God made us physically like him and expects us to be leaders not followers. He expects the best from us just the same as our earthly parents do and we as his children should do our best and do nothing more or less.  God also expects us to take care of the creatures of the planet because every thing poses a purpose no matter how big or small therefore we should never try to kill them or hurt them more than we already have.
