"Stand Firm"This year's Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) theme is "Stand Firm" from the life of Moses. The life of Moses covers the books of Exodus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. In 1st Corinthians chapter 16, God tells us to "Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong." In Ephesians chapter 6, God tells us to "Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." In Philippians chapter 4, God says "...so stand firm in the Lord, my beloved." In 1st Thessalonians chapter 3, God tells us "... for now we really live, if you stand firm in the Lord." In 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, the scriptures tell us to "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or mouth or by letter from us." In 1st Peter chapter 5, He is saying "...exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!" All of these scriptures are telling us that as Christians that we shouldn't "hide it under a bushel" as the children's song goes. We should proudly and openly profess Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer! The people that we work with, the people that we go to school with, our friends, our family, the person you always see in 7-11 - those are the people who should know that we are Christians. When you're at work or at school do you pray? Do you sing praises to God, our Creator? Do you thank Him for giving His own son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for everyone's sins, as a means of salvation? Do your loved ones know who you are living your life for? As you go about your lives think about this and use it as encouragement to do the right thing, whenever or wherever you are.
