Ministry DescriptionsThis ministry is
responsible for insuring that all of the heating and air conditioning systems
are in good working order, and that the heaters are cleaned, inspected, and lit
when cold weather comes. Also, the
deacon(s) in this ministry will make recommendations to the responsible elder
when systems need repair, parts, service, or replacement. The deacon(s) in this
ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to
the responsible elder. This
ministry is responsible for insuring that the entire building is kept
presentable at all times. Included
in this ministry is the responsibility for contacting individuals who use the
building for weddings, or other activities in order to insure that the building
will be cleaned following the use of the building. This ministry also includes
the inspection, detection and repair of minor deficiencies, including, but not
limited to drippy faucets, burned out light bulbs, door closures, non-working
locks, broken pews, broken windows, fire alarms, smoke detectors, ceiling tiles,
time clocks properly set, bathroom fixtures, paint needs, and any other repairs
which will improve the comfort, beautification and security of the building. The deacon(s) in this ministry will also be involved in any
building construction, repair or renovation projects, in the capacity of the
coordination of bids, contracts, and inspection of any such projects. The
deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of
this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry includes
the care of all grounds around the building, including the lawn, shrubs, trees,
flower beds, drive ways, and parking lots.
The deacon(s) in this ministry will assign and coordinate the mowing and
grounds maintenance projects. Additionally,
the deacon(s) will be responsible for establishing and coordinating Work Days,
as well as assigning individuals to take care of the outdoor signs.
This includes the changing and updating of the messages and advertising
on the signs. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual
budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. Care & Share,
This is the benevolence ministry of the congregation, including the pantry, Christian Service Center Closet, and activities. The deacon(s) in this ministry will insure that the pantry is always fully stocked by reminding the bulletin staff and Family Circles leaders to gather items. Additionally, this ministry is responsible for the coordination and administration of all known congregational, local, or itinerate benevolent needs. The elder responsible for this ministry will provide guidance in the establishment and application of guidelines and rules to be followed in the performance of this ministry. The deacon(s) in this ministry will also be responsible for coordinating any special benevolence projects or activities, including both local as well as non-local needs in connection with disaster relief and support. The staff will assist in taking care of daily needs of the Care & Share Pantry. The deacon(s) in this
ministry is responsible for advertising and notification to the congregation of
needs in order for the Childrens’ Homes Pantry to remain stocked.
Coordination and notification of the congregation for any additional
special needs when the Childrens’ Homes’ trucks will be arriving for pickup
of food and other materials. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in
providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry is designed to gather statistical information concerning the numeric growth of the congregation in all major areas, and then presenting the information to the elders, involvement ministry deacon(s), and the congregation. This ministry is intended to highlight our strengths, weaknesses, and trends. The deacon(s) in this ministry will offer suggestions regarding needed improvements in the spiritual and numeric growth of Central. The edification element of this ministry will consist of the development and implementation of programs to help insure that we perpetuate an atmosphere and culture within the congregation which will cause others to want to participate in the blessings of being a member of the Central congregation. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. The deacon(s) in this
ministry help insure that we have an evangelistic and outstanding Bible School,
with a coordinated and well-planned curriculum, teacher training, and teacher
recruitment program. In addition,
this ministry includes the overall supervision and assistance in the planning
and acquisition of materials for the supply room and library.
Assignments of teachers and subject materials will be coordinated and
in-place at least one month prior to the beginning of each bible school quarter.
The deacon(s) in this ministry will also serve as members of the
education committee. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the
annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry stays in communication with our missionaries and their needs, thus making available the most productive evangelistic efforts possible. The deacon(s) in this ministry will help coordinate fundraising, campaigns (local involvement for foreign works), and reports for the bulletin. Also, will see to the needs and care of the missionary families. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. Evangelism (Personal, Local, and T.V.) This ministry is the
complete local evangelistic program of the church.
It includes training for evangelism, correspondence courses, local
campaigns, home bible studies, training and planning of stateside mission trips
Equipping The Saints, and T.V. Evangelism. The deacon(s) in this ministry will
assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible
elder. This ministry is
designed to coordinate efforts to visit those who visit our services at Central,
our shut-ins, sick, bereaved, and out-of-duty members. The deacon(s) in this
ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to
the responsible elder. The deacon(s) in this
ministry are responsible for recruiting and assigning new leaders once each
year. This ministry is for the purpose of acquainting our members
with each other, serving those who are sick and bereaved, and providing greater
fellowship among our families. The
deacon(s) will organize the Family Circles, and gather the food information for
the church secretary. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing
the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry is responsible for the compilation of all financial information of the church. Included in this ministry is the preparation of all necessary worksheets and documentation to be used in the preparation of the annual budget or purpose of the congregation. This is to be done during the month of November, for the following year. This will include the coordination of the deacons and elders in each of the ministries in the preparation their budgetary requests and requirements for the following year. Also included in this ministry is the bookkeeping and accounting tasks and preparation of monthly financial statements and budget reports. These reports are to be presented to the elders, as well as to the congregation each month for the following month. This ministry also includes the responsibility for the counting of the weekly contribution and the preparation of the bank deposits. In connection with the contributions, this ministry is responsible for the acquisition and distribution of the contribution envelopes as well as the accounting for the individual member contribution records and the preparation and distribution of the contribution reports to the members at the end of each year. The deacon(s) in this ministry will also function in the capacity of determining needs for the office and administrative functions of the congregation. This will include, but not be limited to the acquisition of office equipment, computer equipment, and operations needs. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry helps to
introduce and orient new and old members to the various programs and ministries
of work in the congregation. The
deacon(s) in this ministry will be responsible for the preparation of
involvement worksheets to be submitted for each member to complete.
The information on these
worksheets will then be compiled and added to our ministries data base.
The information from the ministries data base will then be provided to
each of the appropriate ministry leaders to use in recruiting of members to work
in their various ministries. This
ministry will work closely with the deacon(s) in the New Members &
Friendship Evangelism Ministry. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in
providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry creates
and coordinates special opportunities of fellowship and service for our older
members (generally, ages 60+). This
will also include providing transportation opportunities for our Prime Timers to
local gospel meetings and workshops, as well as other local activities which
will serve to encourage and edify our older members.
The leaders in this ministry will also organize and participate in
activities which will minister to the physical and spiritual needs of our
shut-ins, and our older members, widows and widowers. The deacon(s) in this
ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to
the responsible elder. This ministry works closely with the Youth/Family Minister and plans and coordinates special youth projects such as L.T.C., Bible Bowls and Bible Quiz. The deacon(s) in this ministry will also assist the Educational Committee in planning Bible Classes for the Youth. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. Ushers,
Greeters, Parking, Counting & Security This ministry insures that every visitor to our services feels welcome by providing assistance as needed, and a warm welcome. Also, the deacon(s) in this ministry will assign individuals to help secure our parking lot and building. The deacon(s) in this ministry will make sure that visitors are given all materials (Life Links, Brochures, etc.), and have their needs met when inquiries are made. This ministry is
responsible for communion preparation, and making assignments to men to wait on
the table at the A.M. and the P.M. services, as well as taking the communion to
shut-ins at home or nursing homes as needed. This ministry is
responsible for selecting men to read scriptures at appropriate times in our
worship services, including the Lord’s Supper and the Offering. This ministry is
responsible for selecting men to lead in prayer in all services. This ministry is
responsible for coordinating and making assignments for song leaders for each of
our worship services, as well as all gospel meetings, weddings and funerals,
other special meetings and services. Also included in this ministry is a program
of training of song leaders, conducting singing classes, offering suggestions
concerning songs, song books, and the learning of new songs when appropriate.
The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs
of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry is to see
to it that the sound system is turned on for all services, and that people are
trained in the operation of all of the sound systems. Also included is the responsibility to see that the audio
level is proper at all times, and that each sermon or lesson taught in our
assembly is tape recorded on our sound system. Weddings, Funerals, & Fellowships This ministry assists
those planning weddings with their needs for the use of our facilities, and also
assists families in time of death. This
will include assistance with their needs for the use of the building, as well as
needs for food and meal coordination. The
deacon(s) in this ministry are responsible for the coordination and purchase of
supplies for all fellowship activities. In
addition, the deacon(s) in this ministry are responsible for the setup and
cleanup assignments for all fellowship activities in the building. The deacon(s)
in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this
ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry helps those desiring to work with our young people and their families. The deacon(s) in this ministry is to be a member of the Youth/Family Committee, and is to work closely with the Youth/Family Minister in the planning and coordination of the K-6TH grade youth devotionals and events. Also works closely in the planning and preparation of the 4TH -6TH grade calendar of events, and provides reminders to those volunteering to assist in various activities. This ministry assists the Educational Committee in planning Bible Class curriculum and activities for the K-6TH grade youth. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry helps those desiring to work with our young people and their families. The deacon(s) in this ministry is to be a member of the Youth/Family Committee, and is to work closely with the Youth/Family Minister in the planning and coordination of the 7TH-12TH grade youth devotionals and events. Also works closely in the planning and preparation of the 7TH-12TH grade calendar of events, and provides reminders to those volunteering to assist in various activities. This ministry assists the Educational Committee in planning Bible Class curriculum and activities for the 7TH-12TH grade youth. The deacon(s) in this ministry assist in the planning and coordination of the Annual Youth Rally. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry is
responsible for taking photographs of all new members, and keeping the picture
board current. The deacon(s) in
this ministry work with the office staff in the preparation of the membership
telephone directory each year. This ministry leader or deacon(s) has the responsibility as follows: A. Review contents of the Tract Rack regularly, and re-supply as needed. B. Review new tracts and make recommendations to the elders for purchases. C. Solicit future tract needs from elders, deacons, evangelists, teachers personal workers and other members. D.
The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget
needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry assists in
the orientation of new people into the program; the assignment of a person or
persons who will adequately provide maintenance of the program.
Consideration of expansion of the program to reach out to other areas
than Nigeria, Africa. The deacon(s)
in this ministry should keep adequate records by reporting monthly numbers of
WBS students, monthly postal and material costs for each month. The deacon(s) in
this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry
to the responsible elder. The deacon(s) in this
ministry is to clean the baptistry, change the water, check the water regularly,
and also assist when people are being baptized.
Also to clean and take care of baptismal garments following each baptism. New Members & Friendship Evangelism The deacon(s) in this ministry will seek ways to educate the members of the program regarding the plans and organization as follows: A. Assemble the members into groups of five participating families. Each group will be assigned to a new member family (N.M.F.) for the purpose of assisting the (N.M.F.) to find their respective places in the various areas of work in the congregation. B. The five family group will maintain regular contact with the (N.M.F.) C. The five families will assist the ( N.M.F.) in becoming acquainted with other member families whose interests are similar (i.e. ages, marital status, children, recreation, employment and academic interests). D. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assist in providing the annual budget needs of this ministry to the responsible elder. This ministry will work in coordinated efforts with various area congregations involved in the biblical teachings in certain correctional institutions. The deacon(s) in this ministry will assign individuals to accomplish the work, both by “in-house” and postal services. As with WBS, there should be adequate records of materials, student number, postage and other material costs. Such maintenance reports should be prepared at the end of every month. This ministry is responsible for being sure that the vans and lawn equipment are in safe and dependable operating condition at all times, and that license plates, safety inspections are current and that insurance verification cards are in each vehicle. Routine maintenance such as oil changes, washing the exterior, cleaning the interior must be performed as needed.
